M1

The M1 assignment consists of multiple parts. We were expected to produce a series of architectural representations based on architectural projects, both individually and as a group.

M1-1

For the first assignment of M1, we worked as a group to research our architectural project and created a slide presentation about it.

García del Valle House, Alberto
- Campo Baeza

García del Valle House was designed by Spanish architect Alberto Campo Baeza in 1971 and built in 1974. It is considered his opera prima, as the structure contains the basic principles—such as light and simplicity—that are seen in his later works.

Baeza was influenced by modernist and rationalist movements. He created a platform architecture that felt 'Wrightian.'

The structure incorporates concrete, glass, metal, and brick, achieving harmony with nature and a simple aesthetic appearance.

M1-5

For M1-5, we individually created a 1:200 scale model of the project using the specified material: 1 mm white polystyrene-free model paper (without Styrofoam)

We also produced 1:100 scale model of the project’s staircase.

M1-7

We articulated the section drawings produced in AutoCAD for M1 to create an expressive collage section that reflects our interpretation of the building’s spatial qualities and its relationship with contextual features
